Some Are Spending Hundreds Or Thousands To Keep Their Kids In Youth Sports

Many kids in the U.S., like Aidan Rael, love nothing more than hitting the ice with his recreational hockey league. But rising costs of everything from gear to gas and higher prices for young athletes to compete across the board are causing parents to make tough decisions. With sports associated with higher test scores and lower levels of depression and obesity, some families are cutting costly entertainment and eating out less in order to keep their children in the game. But, experts caution the higher prices will keep some kids off the playing field.
